20th Annivesary Gilded Silver Maple Leaf

The first Silver Maple Leaf was released in 1988 and would become one of the most popular bullion coins to be released, twenty years later in 2008 the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) released this stunning gold plated Silver Maple Leaf that commemorates this milestone. This Silver Maple Leaf has an extremely low mintage, highlighted in pure gold and marks the 20th anniversary of the Silver Maple Leaf series of bullion coins. The coin features the Canadian specimen finish, which is a three fold combination of different finishes, the design raised area or relief includes both brilliant and mirrored surfaces, while the fields are subtly striated resulting in a contrasting matte appearance of the coin, no other mint in the world employs the specimen finish.

The coin features a brand new naturalistic single maple leaf design and the dual dates of 1988-2008 commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Silver Maple Leaf, the reverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is exactly the same one as on the very first Silver Maple Leaf issued in 1988. And a maple leaf that is selectively plated in pure 24 karat gold and the RCM specimen finish, this coin comes in its own clam case and with individually numbered certificate.
