The Wedged Tailed Eagle Silver Proof

Wedged Tailed Eagle Proof

The Perth Mint has released the second coin in the Endangered and Extinct Series, the Tasmanian Wedge Tailed Eagle. This is a huge bird that stands one meter tall and has a wingspan roughly twice its own height, separated for thousands of years from its mainland counterparts it now faces a number of threats including the loss of suitable habitat. As a result it is estimated that no more than 130 pairs are successfully breeding each year. This newly released silver bullion coin has been struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of .999 fine silver and is a proof quality coin. No more than a total of 5,000 of these silver proof coins will be released by the mint for eager collectors, each coin will be housed in a wooden case and protected by an illustrated shipper, also accompanying each coin is a  numbered certificate of authenticity accompanies each coin sold.
