The Perth Mint ended the Lunar Series 1 in 2007 to make way for Series 2, as a result of this the 2008 Rat, 2009 Ox and 2010 Tiger have the release date of 2007 on the obverse side of the coin and the reverse side of these coins bear the actual lunar year date. The character animal depicted on each coins reverse side is in pure 24 carat gold showing stunning detail, each coin is housed in a contemporary red and black display case and an illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
