Silver Koala Berlin Bear Privy

This collection of coins was released by the Perth Mint to cover the 12 year period from 1999 till 2010, each coin depicts the chinese character for the year that each coin is dated. The Perth Mint ended the Lunar Series 1 in 2007 to make way for Series 2, as a result of this the 2008 Rat, 2009 Ox and 2010 Tiger have the release date of 2007 on the obverse side of the coin and the reverse side of these coins bear the actual lunar year date. The character animal depicted on each coins reverse side is in pure 24 carat gold showing stunning detail, each coin is housed in a contemporary red and black display case and an illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The Australian Perth Mint has just released the first coin from its Great Warrior Series,the coin depicts a Roman legionary in colour. Tough, courageous and highly disciplined infantry soldiers these professional legionaries formed the backbone of the Roman army, who where a formidable fighting force that conquered and controlled the vast Roman Empire. The legionary is dressed in a galea a metal helmet with cheek guards and a cuirass, his body armour comprising overlapping iron plates. The legionary is also wears an apron of leather strips featuring metal plates hanging from his belt and leather sandals.

New Britannia design for 2010…


A new design 2010 Silver Britannia will be released next year by the Royal Mint, the new design has been created by Suzie Zamit, since its release in 1997 the designs have been done by Philip Nathan… The Britannia comes in Silver BU and Silver Proof as well as a four coin Silver Proof set which consists of £2, £1, 50p and a 20p, produced in .958 silver as opposed to .999 silver this bullion coin is definitely one for the collection… Next years Britannia will come in a presentation box as opposed to the shabby plastic holder it has come in for the last few years this is a huge improvement and shows the mint is listening to collector and dealers…
